8start Launcher 1.7 built 5th April 2008 Windows 2K or Windows XP
Menu>Organized Button> Default easy method of searching for a file
Drop-Down-Box: My Computer > C: (here I cannot see folders with attrib +S?)
the trick is attrib +S is requested to show a folder with a customized icon.
A folder with just a desktop.ini is not visible in explorer with a customized icon until the attrib +s is created in a prompt window.
Do you have a workaround for the easy method? I understand that if you use Open File Explorer to hack Setting folder it does not apply!
Do you think it is a bug? Will you fix it in a next release?
Am I missing something?
BTW 8start is such a great tool!
Thanks, Mike

Let's say you create a folder MyTest under the c drive with explorer.
check you can see it under 8start default easy method.
now you open a prompt with start>Program>Accessories>Command Prompt in XP or 2K.
if you are not just under the c prompt, do a few cd ..
when under the root, type attrib +S MyTest
check you cannot see it anymore under 8start
Let me know, if you need more help.
